The hallmark of Cort’s Gold series is the Aged to Vintage (ATV) treatment that cures the Sitka spruce top to deliver the full and open tone of a vintage guitar, from day one. ATV acts as a torrefaction process, giving the Gold-D8 a big, open tone that’s bright, yet natural with a strong and warm midrange that’s reinforced by the solid Pau Ferro back and sides. Most guitar makers simply bevel the frets at each end to eliminate the sharp edges. This process is highly complex and time-consuming and requires the skilled workmanship of experienced craftsmen. Neck Profile Cort has developed comfortable dimensions in neck thickness from the headstock to the heel to increase comfort in your hands and optimize playability. To assure consistency, Cort uses state-of-the-art CNC machines to accurately mill each and every neck. Each neck is then carefully sanded and finished by skilled craftsmen who have a dedication and passion for building some of the best acoustic guitars in the world. |

Sonically Enhanced UV Finish UV finish is about 30% thinner than standard finishes and this allows the wood to “breathe” and vibrate more freely. This process requires a shorter drying time and reduces chemical interaction between the finish and the woods,which is ideal for your instrument’s longevity. Due to the much shorter drying time and the lack of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) in the UV finish material, it is also an environmentally friendly process. This high-tech finish is strong enough to be resistant to scratches but light weight enough to improve the natural acoustic resonance of the body for a full, rich tone. |
